Using Bickiepegs
From what age can my baby use Bickiepegs?
From around 6 months, when teething usually begins and babies are getting ready for solids. They suit most babies up to about 3 years, until the first set of teeth is through. Every baby is different, so go by your child's readiness.
How long should a Bickiepeg last?
Up to 20 minutes. Always stay with your baby, and throw the biscuit away sooner if it softens, cracks or feels weak. Use a fresh one every time, and finish the pack within 7 days of opening.
Do Bickiepegs dissolve like rusks?
No. They're baked to be very hard, so your baby gnaws on them rather than eating them like a rusk. That firm resistance gives sore gums and growing jaws something to work against.
Teething and chewing
When does teething usually start?
For most babies, the first tooth appears at around 6 months, but anywhere from a few months to after the first birthday is normal. Dribbling, extra chewing and flushed cheeks can start a few weeks before a tooth shows.
Why does chewing matter before teeth arrive?
Chewing on firm things exercises the oral muscles, which are used in your baby's everyday actions, including feeding and even speech.
Brushing and oral care
When should I start brushing?
As soon as the first tooth appears. Brush twice a day, including right before bed, using a smear of fluoride toothpaste (at least 1000ppm) for under-3s. Before teeth arrive, you can use a specialist finger toothbrush to help clean your baby's gums.
How do I clean the finger toothbrush?
Wash it in warm, soapy water after each use, then rinse and leave it to dry.
Safety and ingredients
What are Bickiepegs made from?
Just organic wheat flour and wheat germ. No added sugar, salt, colours, flavourings or preservatives. They contain gluten (wheat).
Where are the teething biscuits made?
Our teething biscuits are baked in Scotland.
Orders and delivery
Do you deliver outside the UK?
Yes. We send tracked parcels to the EU, the US and Canada, Australia and New Zealand, and parts of Asia, with the cost shown at checkout. International orders are dispatched within 5 business days. Local import duties or taxes may apply on arrival.
How do returns work?
You have 14 days from receiving your order to ask for a return. Email enquiries@bickiepegs.co.uk and we'll tell you where to send it. Items must be unused and in their original packaging; opened biscuit packs can't be returned. Return postage is at your cost. Faulty or wrong item? Tell us and we'll put it right.
