Since 1925, Bickiepegs Teething Biscuits, invented by a Harley Street pediatrician, have supported the healthy development of babies’ teeth and jaws through recommended chewing action. Made with just wheat and water, these natural, resistive biscuits offer a firm texture that exercises the jaw, strengthens muscles, and promotes dental development—key for babies transitioning to solid foods. The hardness of each biscuit not only relieves sore gums, soothing crying babies, but also introduces them to the act of chewing, essential for oral health. Made with only wheat and water and containing no added sugar or salt, Bickiepegs are still crafted as they were nearly a century ago. Choose the original Bickiepegs Teething Biscuit to naturally support jaw development and give your baby the teething relief they need. Ingredients: Wheat flour, wheatgerm, water. Key Features
Trusted by five generations, Bickiepegs Resistive teething biscuits assist infants (and parents) through the teething process by addressing four key developmental needs:
1. Practising Chewing Skills/Mastication: The hardness and resistive nature of Bickiepegs provide the appropriate surface for chewing exercises that engage orofacial muscles. This is vital to the development of a baby’s jaw bones, muscles, and teeth, which are essential for developing chewing skills and even speech.
2. Aiding Overall Oral and Jaw Development: The shape of the biscuit allows the baby to “bite” at both the front (incisors and canines) and back of the mouth to reach the molars, promoting balanced development of the entire oral cavity.
3. Transitioning to Solids: Chewing on Bickiepegs helps infants transition from liquids to solid foods by building the necessary oral motor skills for consuming a broader range of textures and consistencies, while providing an early exposure to harder foods.
4. Soothing Teething Pain: The hardness of Bickiepegs is also effective in soothing the discomfort associated with teething, providing the firm pressure that can relieve gum soreness. Some professionals believe that chewing on the biscuits before teething can help teeth grow straighter and with better spacing.
Furthermore, Bickiepegs are:
– Made from 100% Natural Ingredients: Handcrafted in Scotland, Bickiepegs are made from wheat flour, wheat germ, and water with no artificial colourings, preservatives, flavourings, or added sugar or salt. Suitable for vegetarians and vegans, and free from GM ingredients and dairy.
– Handcrafted Quality: Every biscuit is handmade daily in our dedicated bakery in Scotland, then carefully hand-packed to ensure the highest quality. Each Bickiepeg undergoes four rigorous quality checks before packaging.
– Safe and Convenient: Each packet includes a safety ribbon, allowing the biscuit to be attached to baby’s clothing, ensuring it stays close at hand.
Instructions
Instructions
1. Inspect each Bickiepeg before use. Pull and bend the biscuit in all directions. Discard biscuits that are broken or damaged. Do not use if packaging is compromised.
2. Thread the ribbon through the hole, then tie a knot to secure the infant’s wrist for chewing. Ribbons can be washed and re-used. 3. Let the child hold the biscuit and allow them to put it in their mouth. Or hold the biscuit and gently let the baby bite on it.
4. Encourage your baby to bite and chew 3 times on one side of the mouth, then switch to the other side. Always try to place the Bickiepeg to the side of your baby’s mouth, in the premolar area.
5. Repeat up to 6 times and no more than 20 minutes per Bickiepeg. Discard Bickiepeg after use.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to maintain product quality. Please keep out of reach of children when not in use. Biscuits can be placed in fridge, but not the freezer, to enhance their soothing effects. Once opened always keep unused Bickiepegs in a sealed airtight container.
